One of the biggest days of hockey at the 2018 Winter Olympics is finally here. The men’s tournament continues early in the morning with the remaining quarterfinals games, but the real highlight comes at 11:10 p.m. ET when Team USA faces Canada in the women’s gold medal game.
There’s no bigger rivalry at the Winter Olympics than the one brewing in women’s hockey between the Americans and Canadians. Those two teams have had countless intense battles over the years that have cemented a competitive animosity between them on the ice.
The most recent came at the 2014 Winter Olympics, where Canada won a thrilling gold medal game over the U.S. that included multiple blown leads and a shot that hit a post within the final two minutes. It was as thrilling any hockey you’ll ever see, and we’re all hoping the two teams will have something else amazing in store Wednesday night.
On the men’s side, the action begins with Olympic Athletes from Russia facing Norway at 2:40 a.m. ET.
The other two games will see Canada face Finland and Sweden take on Germany. The winners of those two games will face each other in the semifinals with a trip to the gold medal game on the line.
