Home/About

"It’s great to know that there are people out there who are just as obsessive as I am about the Oakland (Athletics). It also gives me an outlet for writing, as I have always loved writing and wanted to make it my career. With blogging, I get the best of both worlds. I get to be a fan and write about the team I love from a biased viewpoint." – Tyler Bleszinski, blogger at AthleticsNation.com, President of SB Nation, on the power of sports blogging

Who we are

SB Nation was founded by an experienced group of net pioneers and blogosphere leaders who have built strong Internet communities. From the beginning, we've focused on building the most interactive, fan-friendly sports sites on the web, and recruiting only the best bloggers to join SB Nation. The goal of SBN has always been to empower the passionate fan who never ceases caring about the fortunes of his or her team, whether it's during the season or not. SB Nation has successfully given the fan a soapbox from which to preach to a receptive audience 24/7/365.

David Halprin, Blogging the Boys

Manager of NFL blogs

A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, David started writing his blog in August of 2005. He spent so much time talking and thinking about the Cowboys that a blog seemed like the right outlet for an obsessive fan. Later in 2005, he was asked to join SB Nation and has been blogging with us ever since. Outside of a part-time day job that involves software consulting, much of his free time is devoted to growing Blogging The Boys into a vibrant community about America's Team.

Matt Bernhardt, Blog A Bull

Manager of NBA blogs

Matt started 'Bulls Blog' in the summer of 2003, making that site one of the very first in the then-fledgling NBA blogosphere. Born in the suburbs of Chicago and raised a spoiled Bulls fan growing up only knowing titles, he stuck through the lean post-Jordan years with pride, even through the Eddie Robinson era. As the readership of NBA blogs has grown, Matt was very active in trying to grow the readership and community of NBA blogs, most noticeably through his famous blogroll (awarded best among NBA blogs by Dan Shanoff). He started the Carnival of the NBA, a regular collection of links amongst NBA blogs. The Carnival is now in its 45th edition and when posted is always one of the most linked destinations for several days. It was primarily through these accomplishments that made ESPN's Henry Abbott call BlogABull.com 'The patron-saint of NBA blogging'.
