There’s playing excellent defense, and there’s this. Malik Monk was determined to distract Georgia’s J.J. Frazier, so much that he kept one hand on his hip at all times. There’s a problem with this: it’s annoying as hell. It’s also not allowed.
Monk knew what he was doing, as evident by Fraizer repeatedly swiping his hand away only for Monk to immediately place it back. Leave the guy’s hip and butt alone. Go for the basketball.
And based on the whistle at the end of the video, it didn’t work, anyway. The refs could see all those hand checks from a mile away.
