Brian Westbrook, who has missed six of the past seven weeks due to concussions, was set to return to practice with the Eagles on Wednesday, but that doesn't mean much for his playing status in Sunday's game with the 49ers. In fact, a source said "that there's almost no way Westbrook makes it back by Sunday." Head coach Andy Reid is equally pesimistic.
Eagles coach Andy Reid said the concussion tests on running back Brian Westbrook are "better, but not all the way there." Asked if he were planning to play without Westbrook on Sunday against San Francisco, Reid said, "I am today ... It's a day-to-day thing." Westbrook will practice with scout team again today, Reid said. Reid said the team is "just getting him back into football shape."
When asked if he was moving forward as if Westbrook would be unavailable Sunday, Reid answered, "I am today."
