Fantasy football is all about matchups. As the fantasy playoffs approach (and trade deadlines), we're here to let you know which teams are particularly user-friendly for their running backs and passing attacks. Without further ado, here are the teams who should make your eyes light up when you see them on your players' schedules (rankings in descending order).
Rushing Defenses:
- Buffalo Bills (173.0 YPG)
- Tampa Bay Bucs (167.3 YPG)
- Cleveland Browns (165.8 YPG)
- Oakland Raiders (155.6 YPG)
- St. Louis Rams (142.3 YPG)
Comments: The Bills have decent against the pass, but they are abysmal against the run. Things wont' get any better this week when they face MJD...The Bucs offense has come to life in recent weeks, but their defense is a continued liability. Start all your Saints -- Pierre Thomas, Mike Bell and Reggie Bush -- against this woeful unit. Any one of the Saints' running backs could go off...Rather unsurprisingly, this list of worst run defenses reads a who's who of miserable NFL teams. Because these teams are trailing so frequently, other teams pile on the carries against them.
Passing Defenses
- Detroit Lions (271.7 YPG)
- Tennessee Titans (270.4 YPG)
- Arizona Cardinals (253.4 YPG)
- San Francisco 49ers (248.3 YPG)
- Atlanta Falcons (240.7 YPG)
Comments: If you own any part of the Cardinals passing attack, rejoice: the Lions are on the schedule in Week 16 during most league's fantasy championship...The Titans have gotten Cortland Finnegan back, and have looked better against the pass recently, but those were all matchups against subpar passing teams. The Titans will get a good test this weekend when they travel to Houston to take on the Texans' third-ranked passing attack...Losing starting cornerback Brian Williams for the year has clearly hurt the Falcons, who have been exposed in pass coverage the last few weeks.
