The Atlantic Coast Conference's 26 championships have all been handed out for the 2014-15 academic calendar. So how'd our Syracuse Orange fare in their second year in the ACC? Well, take a look below:

Hey, that's not too shabby, Orange-folk! We were tied for the third-most conference championships this year, with three. And we didn't just rack up big numbers on smaller sports either (hi, Hoos -- yes, I know, this is your thing... I'm just messing with you guys). That now brings our ACC total to four (these three, plus last year's cross country title), which ties us with South Carolina on the all-time list. SU already has more titles than Pitt (zero), Louisville (zero) and Boston College (one) combined... related: lulz, Eagles. The Orange are also just one behind Notre Dame (five) and two back of Miami (six) on that list. North Carolina leads the conference in championships by a whole hell of a lot, with over 260 since the league's inception.

In related news, the most recent Learfield Sports Director's Cup standings were released on Thursday, and Syracuse comes in at 33rd overall. Nowhere to go but down at this point, however, as the Orange don't have a horse in the softball or baseball races, while nearby schools in the standings certainly do. (EDIT: As our own Kevin Wall points out, the Orange can grab some points in Eugene from individuals participating in the National Track & Field Championships.) After a strong showing this fall (despite football's failures), SU's winter sports did little to help the cause, though spring rebounded a bit.
Overall, nice job this year, Orange! Lots of great performances led to a decently successful 2014-15 season, and hopefully there's more to build on going forward.
