Blast from the Not-Too-Distant Past
Oh hell no, we're not even going there with CC. Here is video from one of BC's many recent Hockey East quarterfinal wins over UMass.
The Pre-Game Watering Hole
With Colorado College in town, you're going to want to drink whatever you can to forget memories of 2011 and start fresh. On Saturday night before the UMass game, there will be a BC football game ongoing kicking off at 3:30, so you'll want to get yourself settled in near a TV. My usual recommendation for Saturday home games when you don't have to rush would be to go the extra couple of minutes down to Brighton Center to go to Porter Belly's.
Scoreboard Watching: Out-Of-Town Notes
Sadly, you can only watch one of the two Notre Dame vs. Niagara games on TV this week. Real bummer. North Dakota vs. Providence kicks off tonight for two games out in ND and that's going to be a doozy of a series. Also, Michigan and Michigan State play at Lowell and BU tonight and tomorrow.
Predictions
Boston College 7, Colorado College 1
Boston College 3, UMass 2
Eagles come out stormin' on opening night at Conte and send the fans home happy with a dynamic attack. At least one d-man will score two goals, and Hanifin will get his first. Cam Spirotime scores, too.
Saturday night will be a little bit more of a struggle, I could see the team coming out flat for that one and having to grind out a win.
Boston College 5, UMass 0
Everything clicks and BC looks solid over two games. How come no UMass fans talk about their hockey team taking over the state?
Grant Salzano:
Boston College 4, Colorado College 2
Boston College 5, UMass 1
I think we're overestimating UMass, even with the "conference game" factor.
BCI Prediction Standings
THREE WAY TIE LAST WEEK!!!!! I said 6-3 BC. Beerfart said 5-2 BC. Enzo said 5-1 BC. The scoring system is 5 points for a win, minus however many goals you were off by in the margin of victory, +1 bonus point for each team's score you get exactly right. That means All three of us ended with 5 points, so good for us. 1/3 of a win for all three!
STANDINGS
AJ 1
Joe Grav 0.33
Enzo 0.33
Beerfart 0.33
