1) The Fury defeated the Evergreen Diplomats 2-1 last Saturday night coming back from being down a goal at halftime. How do you think the team played?
Graham King Charters ("GKC"): The first half we were perhaps slightly inhibited and we didn't look sharp at all. However, once the second half began we quickly found our rhythm and the players did fantastic in coming back.
2) Scott McCoubrey has seemed to changed the team fortunes since joining the team including scoring on Saturday. Do you feel the same way?
GKC: Scott's a tremendous player with a fantastically positive attitude. I worked very hard to bring him here and I always knew he would add a new dimension to the team, on and off the field. He's extremely hungry to succeed and he possesses wonderful talent. I am certain he is not yet even at full fitness and as the season goes on I believe we will see even more from him.
3) The Fury are top of the standings four games in. How's the team's attitude been this week?
GKC: Naturally the attitude has been a positive one; when you go top it automatically sends confidence throughout the team and everyone involved. However, there is also a sense of humbleness and caution as we are all fully aware that getting to the top is one challenge and staying there is another. When you go top, you become a target for every other team! We welcome the challenge and now we are there we want to go even further!
4) You play Ironbound Soul SC this weekend and their season has not gotten off to the same start as yours has. How will the Fury play against them on the road?
GKC: We will of course show them the respect they deserve, they are a strong team and will present a new challenge. We know that in the ASL every team can perform and if we are not at our optimum focus levels then we can be in danger. But I believe the team is ready and hungry to go once more.
5) The two teams played each other earlier in the year in a friendly that Ironbound seemed to dominate. Granted, it was a pre-season friendly, but will the Fury be looking to get some revenge on that loss?
GKC: No, soccer is not about revenge! It is about concentrating on our organization and doing the absolute best we can. If we do that, then we will be successful. Every team loses and if you went into every game thinking of revenge then the emotional levels of the players will override the focus and concentration needed to succeed. I am hopeful that the pre-season game and this game will present two different stories.
