The Buffalo Bills claimed defensive lineman Lionel Dotson off waivers from the Miami Dolphins on Sunday night, reports Adam Caplan. This is a low-risk acquisition on a defensive player who will be have a time of making the roster.
Dotson was a seventh-round selection by the Miami Dolphins in 2008 after completing a career with the Arizona Wildcats. Dotson has played in just seven games since he was drafted and has bounced around the league on practice squads. He was on the Denver Broncos' practice squad in 2010 before the Dolphins re-signed him. But he went on to injured reserve during the middle of the season.
In addition to this move, the Bills made noise on Sunday by signing middle linebacker Nick Barnett to a multi-year contract, a far more impactful decision.
