Kris Draper will apparently retire from the NHL on Tuesday, after a photo gallery caption on the Detroit Red Wings official website accidentally leaked the news.
As captured by Kukla's Korner and spotted by several other writers on Monday afternoon, the Red Wings published a photo gallery celebrating Draper's career with the following image:
The Wings have since taken down the photo, perhaps just another sign that Draper will indeed be retiring on Tuesday. He made his NHL debut with the Winnipeg Jets in the 1990-91 season and it took him several years and a trade to the Wings to actually break into the league.
With the Red Wings organization, Draper became a mainstay after spending most of the 1993-94 season with the AHL's Adirondack Red Wings. Since, he hasn't left Detroit, appearing in over 1,100 games with the Wings across 17 seasons.
