Jim McMahon, headbanded quarterback of the 1985 NFL champion Chicago Bears, was involved in a limousine accident near Reno, Nevada on Monday, according to KOLO-TV. McMahon was reportedly sent to Renown Regional Medical Center with what are believed to be non-serious injuries after finding himself hurled from the back of the limo to the front seat.
The vehicle's whereabouts at the time, according to the report:
The limo went off U.S 395 in Pleasant Valley about a 1/4 mile from Andrew Lane...and plowed deep into a field next to the road. Traffic was backed up on US 395 northbound due to the accident.
McMahon was in town for a celebrity golf tournament. Hs 15-year NFL career is mostly remembered for his Bears years, which included a Pro Bowl appearance, though he's been known to give an entertaining quote or two well into his retirement. We'll hope he's all right.
