Trabzonspor midfielder Drago Gabrić, 24, was involved in a serious car accident today. According to Bosnian free lance journalist Saša Ibrulj, Gabrić suffered a head injury including a fractured skull and a brain contusion. He is currently in a coma at a hospital in Split, Croatia.
Gabrić has been with Trabzonspor since 2009. He spent the entire 2010-2011 on loan with another Turkish Super Lig club, Ankaragücü. Ankaragücü finished 13th in the 18 team league. Gabrić featured in 22 matches for the club scoring 4 goals.
He began his career with his hometown club of Hajduk Split. He spent 2004-2006 on loan with Croatian clubs Omiš, Solin, and Novalja.
Gabrić's international career with the Croatian National Team is just really getting underway. He only has five caps to his name at this time, but he was called in by manager Slaven Bilić for the Euro 2012 qualifying match against Georgia on June 3.
