There's a bit of tea-leave reading going on, but it would seem that there's at least some reason to believe that Porsche might be the first-ever shirt sponsor of the Colorado Rapids. At least, that's the conclusion that Burgundy Wave came to after see this:
Today on Facebook, the Rapids released a picture of Rapids players test driving Porches in the Pepsi Center parking lot. So unless the sponsor coming up is Pepsi, it's looking incredibly likely that some of the finest cars in the world will soon be adorning the front of the Rapids jerseys or at the very least as a team sponsor in the same way that Westeria Credit Union has been integrated into team announcements on the logo.
Of course, pictures of players could mean many things. Maybe they all really like Porsches and are just in going for your average team-wide test drive. That happens, right? Or maybe it's just something more simple like Porsche becoming the "official car" of the Rapids. In any case, the Rapids promised more info on the partnership soon.
@Burgundywave info regarding the partnership will be posted on the team site in the coming days.
