The Vancouver Whitecaps hope to continue to make Empire Field their fortress Wednesday as they host the New England Revolution in a midweek MLS clash. The Whitecaps remain home after their amazing three-goal comeback last Saturday against Sporting Kansas City. Brazilian striker Camlio Sanvezzo scored two goals in stoppage time which led to his nomination of MLS Player of the Week.
Steve Nicol's side come into this match undefeated and are looking to get another strong road performance. Three weeks ago, the Revs went into the Home Depot Center and surprised most of the league in a 1-1 draw to the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Vancouver has plenty of attacking options for this one as they'll get Designated Player Eric Hassli back from suspension to go along with fellow leading scorers Atiba Harris and Camlio. Also, look for midfielder Davide Chiumiento to be the catalyst in the midfield that gets their offense going.
The Whitecaps will need a strong performance out of their defense as the Revs have found a way to score scrappy goals this season with Shalrie Joseph and Zack Schilawski. Expect the Revs to also bring pressure on the wings with the speed of Sainey Nyassi.
