Luke Harangody was born to be a Boston Celtic, but alas, the dream could only last so long. Just as the trade deadline approached, the Celtics dealt Harangody and promising big man Semih Erden to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for a second round draft pick in 2013.
Say it ain't so!
Mary Schitt Boyer was the first to report the deal for the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, and as sad as it sounds, it seems the report is legitimate. Harangody is Haran-gone, and perhaps the most stereotypical Boston Celtic of all time now joins the worst team in the NBA.
For the Cavaliers, the deal gives them Erden, a big man that's actually seen some meaningful minutes for the Celtics this year, and Harangody, the frumpiest NBA player in the entire league. For the Celtics, the move clears two roster spots, and depending on how long Cleveland's struggles continue, their 2013 second round pick could turn into something pretty valuable. But come on, this is an outrage. Can the Celtics at least get Scalabrine back?
