Following Strikeforce's 'Diaz vs. Cyborg' event this past Saturday night, the California State Athletic Commission has released the medical suspensions incurred from a night that saw every fight on the card end in a stoppage. One of the highlights is what could be a six month layoff for former No. 1 Strikeforce middleweight contender and knockout artist Robbie Lawler, who apparently suffered a foot injury during his bout with middleweight champion Ronaldo Jacaré Souza.
Souza went on to defend and retain his belt, taking the fight with a rear naked choke submission in the third round. See the rest of the night's suspensions below, via MMA Weekly:
MAIN CARD:
Robbie Lawler suspended for 180 days, with 180 days no contact until cleared by physician for possible left foot fracture.
Scott Carson suspended for 45 days with 30 days no contact for knockout. Needs new physical.
PRELIMINARY CARD:
Nate Moore suspended for 180 days with 180 days no contact or until cleared by physician for possible fracture on his right wrist and right 3 metacarpel.
Nathan Coy suspended 90 days with 90 days no contact for knockout, also needs head scan cleared by physician.
Eric Lawson suspended 60 days with 60 days no contact or until cleared by physician for 2 right ear lacerations.
Lucas Gamaza suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact, needs new physical.
Stephanie Webber suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact, needs new physical.
Charlene Gellner suspended 45 days with 30 days no contact, needs new physical.
