The college hoops season gets a fantastic early season contest as No. 1 Duke faces off with No. 4 Kansas State in the finals of the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic.
Kansas State easily dispatched a struggling Gonzaga team in their semifinal match, shooting a shade over 50 percent in their 81-64 victory. Duke had slightly more difficulty with Marquette, who rallied with 14 points down to tie the Blue Devils midway through the second half, but Duke was able to hold on for a 82-77 victory.
Dick Vitale will be announcing the game along with Dan Shulman, meaning Duke should in no way receiving a tongue bath for the entire broadcast. Perish the thought.
Duke is seeking its fourth straight 5-0 start and will have to win in front of a crowd heavily in favor of the Wildcats, as the game will take place at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, located about two hours from the campus of Kansas State. The Wildcats are 6-2 all-time in the venue.
