Michigan fans are clutching their Rusty Nails a little tighter this afternoon, as be-all end-all QB Denard Robinson, for all intents and purposes the entire Wolverine offense, goes down with a knee injury:
Robinson came up lame after a 47-yard run on the first play of the five-play, 91-yard drive. Robinson was tackled on the sideline in front of the Michigan bench. He tried to stand before taking a knee.
Rather than subject an already-shaken public to Tate Forcier, the coaching staff inserted freshman Devin Gardner, who threw an 11-yard TD pass in short order. Via the AP Top 25 Twitter feed, it appears Robinson's not in bad shape, but he won't be returning:
