When Russ Grimm was inducted into the Hall of Fame a couple weeks back, owner Dan Snyder said there were many other Redskins greats who should join him. One of those players mentioned by Snyder took a big step toward joining Grimm today.
Chris Hanburger, who was a linebacker for the franchise from 1965-1978, was approved for induction by the Pro Football Hall of Fame's senior committee today, according to Leonard Shapiro of the Washington Post. Hanburger was one of two players selected from a pool of 16, joining Les Richter, a linebacker and kicker for the Los Angeles Rams.
Hanburger will be voted on by the full Hall of Fame body in February.
