The Packers have brought back running back Ahman Green, according to Adam Schefter.
Green was released by the Texans in February following two unproductive, injury-filled seasons in Houston. He last played for Green Bay in 2006, when he rushed for 1059 yards. It was his last 1,000-yard season to date, and one of six he had as a member of the Packers. As SB Nation's Acme Packing Company points out, he is 45 yards behind Jim Taylor as the leading rusher in Packers history.
Green Bay has struggled to get a running game going this season with a weak offensive line and running back Ryan Grant averaging 3.8 yards per carry and 69 yards per game. Green will likely start out as the third RB behind Brandon Jackson.
