Orlando finished the game with six of their players in double digits, inlcuding 17 points from Jameer Nelson and 13 from Ryan Anderson. Those two combined for seven of the ten Magic three-pointers. The team finished the game shooting 43% which was a marked improvement from the first half. The also out-rebounded LA 49-37.
The Clippers, who started off strong, could not withstand the increased tempo that the Magic brought in the second half. Blake Griffin woke up a little bit in the fourth quarter, logging a double/double of his own with 10 points and 12 assists. Baron Davis led all scorers and finished the game with 25 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, an excellent all-around game. Ike Diogu made a big splash off the bench, finishing with 18 points.
Howard attributed their second-half improvements to playing better defense and getting a chance to run on defense and offense, as was made evident by their 25 fast-break points.
The Clippers are now 0-3 on their current 11-game road trip.
