Arlington, TX (Sports Network) – Colby Lewis pitched seven strong innings to lead the Texas Rangers over the Seattle Mariners, 7-1, in the continuation of a four-game series.
Lewis (5-4) allowed one run on four hits with five strikeouts for the Rangers, who evened the series after dropping a 4-2 decision in Monday’s opener. Vladimir Guerrero belted a two-run homer while Elvis Andrus finished 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored for Texas, which halted a two-game skid.
Rob Johnson drove in the only run for the Mariners, who have dropped four of their last five games.
Felix Hernandez (3-5) suffered the loss after he allowed seven runs on eight hits in six-plus innings.
