With José Mourinho’s move to Real Madrid all-but-done, Internazionale has moved on to its coaching search, apparently starting near the top of the list.
According to a report, Inter has their eye on current England manager Fabio Capello, who has managed Italy’s other huge clubs – Juventus, Milan, and Roma – but has yet to have a turn with the Nerazzurri.
Internazionale president Massimo Moratti confirmed Inter’s interest to an Italian media outlet:
“I haven’t taken a decision. Capello is one of the candidates and he certainly has a great pedigree,” Moratti told Gazzetta dello Sport’s website.
Speculation regarding Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez’s connection to the impending opening has been undermined by Benitez’s agent, Manuel Garcia Quillon:
“I don’t know anything about Inter,” the agent told Calciomercato.it.
“No one has contacted me. It is just transfer speculation.”
