José Mourinho has signed with Real Madrid, according to a report released shortly after Internazionale defeated Bayern Munich in Saturday’s Champions League final.
Mourinho is said to have signed a four year contract before Saturday’s match and will make more than the £8.6 million he was paid by Inter.
Inter is due compensation from Real Madrid for the coach. The amount to go Inter’s way is said to be no more than £14 million.
After Saturday’s match, Mourinho had confirmed that he would leaving Inter Milan, though he had initially refrained from naming Real Madrid as a destination. Eventually, word came out that he had told German and French outlets that he would be moving to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Now comes confirmation that Mourinho has had a deal in place.
Mourinho has won league titles in England and Italy and has said it is one of his goals to also win a title in Spain.
Real Madrid finished four points behind Barcelona this year at the top of the Spanish Primera Division.
