Denver, CO (Sports Network) – Craig Anderson’s brilliance between the pipes and a fluke goal 51 seconds into overtime helped Colorado come away with a stunning 1-0 win over the San Jose Sharks.
Rookie Ryan O’Reilly was credited with the lone tally that gave the youthful Avalanche a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Anderson, though, was the reason the Avs had a chance to win the game; San Jose peppered the Colorado goaltender with 51 shots but couldn’t find the back of the net once.
San Jose netminder Evgeni Nabokov made 16 saves in defeat.
