The 62nd pick is in and SB Nation's Vikings community, Daily Norseman, has selected...
Florida QB Tim Tebow
All of those things are coachable. The work ethic and dedication to his craft that Tebow brings to the table are not. Neither is the way he oozes confidence and leadership ability. 6'4", 230 pounds with very good mobility really isn't coachable, either. And even if Tebow isn't ready to step in at the quarterback position for the Vikings at this point in time, he could have an impact in other places while he learns the NFL game, much like he did as a freshman on one of the University of Florida's recent National Championship teams.
Whoa. Those are some massive cajones, so bravo. In this scenario, jaded Jaguars fans thank you. In fact, every other team probably thanks you. Make no mistake about it, everyone want to see how Tebow is going to develop. They just don't want their team to be the one taking him. There have been rumblings the last couple days that Tebow may be the Vikings' option in the first round. With that in mind, I guess this could be a steal?
From SB Nation's player profile, courtesy of Alligator Army:
Wants to win at all costs. One of college football's most fierce and driven players ever. Has a strong arm and has played in an offense with multiple looks. Can run well and has learned to protect himself, but it took a concussion to do it.
Bad throwing motion and gimmicky offense or not, Tim Tebow started a ton of games and completed a high percentage of his passes. Considering the Vikings don't have a need right now, I like this pick.
