The 42nd pick is in and SB Nation's Bucs community, Buc 'Em, has selected...
Florida State CB Patrick Robinson
Although he's got ok size (5-11, 195ish), he's got top-flight recovery speed (which was recently confirmed with a 4.38 40-yd time), which could help the Bucs mix up their schemes with more man coverage. Robinson could also do what Ronde in his prime did well...come off the corner at choice times and level the QB.
I don't like this pick, only because Damian Williams is still out there. Who is Josh Freeman going to throw the ball to? Maurice Stovall and Michael Clayton are underachievers and Sammie Stroughter isn't a No. 1 or No. 2 option. While Robinson is a good value pick, there are a few bigger needs and a few better players.
I've gotta agree with MTD on this one. Freeman is the most important building block in the Bucs franchise and he lost his beast weapon in Antonio Bryant. Replacing that production should have been the number one goal following the third overall pick.
