In another interesting development regarding the trade that sent Donovan McNabb to the Redskins, incumbent starter Jason Campbell didn't know the trade had gone down.
That is he didn't know until Washington Examiner reporter John Keim called him to break the news.
Me: Did you hear about what happened?
Jason: What?
Me: The Redskins traded for Donovan.
Jason: Really? Ummm... I didn't know that, man.
Me: I'm sorry I had to be the one who told you. I can't believe they didn't tell you.
Jason: No, that's the first I heard of it. ... I'd better go call my agent.
This isn't a trade that came about within a matter of hours. Andy Reid said at his press conference that the talks had been ongoing.
The Redskins were obviously trying to keep their interest a secret in the instance that the deal didn't go down but, at the very least, Campbell should have been informed about what was happening. If the Eagles had time to tell McNabb what was up, then the Redskins could have done the same with Campbell.
