Apolo Anton Ohno was in fourth place in the final turn of the men's Short Track Speed Skating 1500m Saturday, behind three Koreans, and seemingly set to miss the medal podium. But in a split second, two of the Koreans stumbled and took each other of the race, opening the door for Ohno to skate his way into second place.
The silver medal is the sixth of Ohno's career, making him the most decorated American male ever in the Winter Olympics. He is now tied with speed skater Bonnie Blair as the most successful American in the Winter Games.
In his Olympic debut, 19-year old J.R. Celski won bronze. Korea's Jung-Su Lee was the gold medal winner.
