Entertainment Tonight has broadcast some brief clips from the upcoming film Moneyball.
The book on which the movie is based concerns Oakland Athletics general manager Billy Beane and his efforts to apply financial practices to the evaluation of baseball players. The subject matter is interesting, but this video -- complete with a pair of ultimatums, a moment of introspection, and a desk-throwing -- comes off as Hollywood to a humorous extent.
Taking my cue from these clips, then, I will extrapolate them into an entire scene from the upcoming movie:
BILLY BEANE. Listen up, men. Hitler has a bunch of Moneyballs and we're going to get them all.
JACK. The first rule of Moneyball is that you do not talk about Moneyball.
BILLY BEANE. Whoa. WHOA! You are shooting a loaded gun at your imaginary friend who is standing next to 900 pounds of Moneyball!
GWYNETH PALTROW'S HEAD. I am dead.
JOHN DOE. I have tricked you into committing the sin of Moneyball!
BILLY BEANE. NOOOOOOOO
JOE BLACK. Now you are dead. Let's rob a casino.
